Clinical Experience
The clinical component of the Trauma Research Fellowship immerses fellows in hands-on learning within the orthopaedic trauma outpatient clinic, under the mentorship of Dr Babar Shafiq. Fellows develop expertise in fracture management, including physical exams, image interpretation, and decision-making in trauma cases. They also participate in clinical research patient consent and enrollment, and observing surgeries in the operating room. By the end of the fellowship, the fellows achieve a high level of independence in clinical settings, equipped with the skills necessary for future roles in orthopaedic surgery.
